I received my M.Sc degree (siv.ing) in 1995 from the Norwegian Institute of Technology, NTH, now the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Telecommunications, in Trondheim, Norway. My emphasis was then on signal processing.
Then, in February 1999, I finished my Ph.D. studies at the Signal and Image Processing department of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST) in Paris, France. My Ph.D. research concerned color image acquisition and reproduction, with applications in facsimile, fine-art paintings, and multi-spectral imaging. The title of my dissertation is Acquisition and Reproduction of Colour Images: Colorimetric and Multispectral Approaches.
Then, I worked for 2.5 years in the Document Imaging Team of Conexant Systems, Inc. in Redmond, Washington, USA, as a Staff Software Engineer and Color Scientist. I architected, designed, and developd color management and image processing solutions for multifunction peripherals (MFPs) and other consumer imaging devices and systems.
Currently I am professor of color imaging at the Norwegian Color Research Laboratory at the Department of Computer Science and Media Technology of Gjøvik University College, in Gjøvik, Norway.
